It creates opportunities for investors to finance projects that benefit society and for community organizations to access new sources of funds.
From online crowdfunding campaigns, community bonds, co-op share offers to commercial sector lending, social finance can take many forms. While it’s a popular concept, the application of social finance has been limited. This needs to change to foster community energy across the country.
We will identify social finance models and management by various sectors to help identify how it could help promote and expand community energy in Canada.
